H.E.R. stands for Hope Empowered Recovery and is a group that lifts up black women and creates an environment of understanding and support for those struggling with issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, emotional wellness, and other mental health concerns.

Our H.E.R. support group aims to help black women gain an understanding of issues facing the black community and the world around. Peers will get support and guidance from other black women, express and manage emotions and promote healing within the support group community.

Community Training: Youth Mental Health First Aid (Y-MHFA)

Geared towards those who regularly engage with young people, this Youth Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) workshop introduces participants to the nuances of adolescent mental health challenges. It delves into typical adolescent development and introduces a comprehensive 5-step action plan to offer assistance in both crisis and non-crisis situations. From anxiety and depression to substance use disorders and conditions involving psychosis, such as schizophrenia, the workshop addresses a wide spectrum of mental health challenges that youth might experience.
