Suicide is an incredibly complex and multifaceted public health concern. In 2022, suicide was one of the nine leading causes of death, totalling over 49,000 lives lost to a preventable form of death. Youth between the ages of 10-24 are at an increased risk for suicide, with a particularly concerning rise in Black youth (SAMHSA, 2024). Join this workshop to gain a deeper understanding of suicide and the warning signs and risk factors, best practices for treatment, and what behavioral health providers should keep in mind when providing clinical assistance to a client who may be suicidal or may be experiencing suicidal ideations.
