The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration (SAMHSA) defines Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) as, “a real disorder that develops when a person has experienced or witnessed a scary, shocking, terrifying, or dangerous event.” Overall, according to the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs, “about 5 out of every 100 adults (or 5%) in the U.S. has PTSD in any given year,” totaling about 13 million Americans in 202o. In this workshop, we’ll explore the research behind PTSD and c-PTSD, cutting edge treatment modalities, and get insight on working one-on-one with clients who are managing a PTSD diagnosis.
